"cannot connect?" - Firewall rules, connection details

Connection Details:

RenderBeamer only uses outbound (outgoing) connections, it does not host any server for incoming connection on client side, there is no need to open or forward ports for incoming connections. Connection issues due to firewall can only arise when outgoing connections are blocked.

Here is the list of outgoing connections with ports used by beamer:

main connection: 185.11.130.53:80
upload: 185.11.130.53:70
download: 185.11.130.53:443
update: 185.11.130.47:21
farm api queries: 185.11.130.47:8181



How to add application exception in Anti-Virus Guard:
  1. Click AVG icon in tray;

  2. In AVG's main window click gear icon (next to "Scan now" button);

  3. In "Scan Options" window click gear icon (next to "Anti-Rootkit scan" buton at the bottom);

  4. In "Advanced Settings" window choose "Exceptions" option;

  5. In "Exception" area click "Add exception"button;

  6. In new window roll out "Exception type" list and select "Application or File" option;

  7. In new area click "Browse" button and select "garagefarm.exe" file (It should be in: "C:\Users\[User name]\renderbeamer\jre8\bin\renderbeamer.exe");

  8. Click "Open" button;

  9. In "Ignore this file:" area tick "Even when the file has been changed or updated" option;

  10. Confirm by clicking "OK" button (x2) and close AVG's interface;


How to add application to sandbox in Avast:
  1. Click Avast icon in tray;

  2. In Avast's main window click "SETTINGS" button;

  3. In "Settings" window click "Tools" tab;

  4. In "Tools" area click "Customize" button;

  5. In "Settings" window click "Internet access" tab;

  6. In "Internet access" area click "Browse" button and select "garagefarm.exe" file (It should be in:    "C:\Users\[User name]\renderbeamer\jre8\bin\renderbeamer.exe");

  7. Click "Open" button;

  8. Confirm by clicking "OK" button (x2) and close Avast's interface;


How to set up firewall rules in BullGuard:
  1. Click BullGuard icon in tray;

  2. Click "Manage rules" button (Under fire icon);

  3. In "Firewall Rules" window click right mouse button in empty area and click "New rule" option;

  4. Select "garagefarm.exe" file (It should be in: "C:\Users\[User name]\renderbeamer\jre8\bin\renderbeamer.exe");

  5. Click "Open" button;

  6. In "Firewall Rules" window, make sure that for new application "Java(TM) Platform SE binary", in "Policy" column there is selected "Allow" option;

  7. Confirm by clicking "OK" button and close BullGuard's interface;


How to set up application rules in Comodo:
  1. Click arrow button in Comodo's box at the right, up corner of the screen and select "Open ..." option;

  2. In Comodo's main window click "Firewall" hyperlink in box at the right;

  3. In "Advanced Settings" window click "Application Rules" tab;

  4. In "Application Rules" area click right mouse button in empty area and click "Add" option;

  5. In "Application Rule" window roll out "Browse" list and select "Files" option;

  6. Select "garagefarm.exe" file (It should be in: "C:\Users\[User name]\renderbeamer\jre8\bin\renderbeamer.exe");

  7. Click "Open" button;

  8. In "Application Rule" window select "Use Ruleset:" option;

  9. In the same window click "Web Browser" list and select "Allowed Application" option;

  10. Confirm by clicking "OK" button (x2) and close Comodo's interface;


How to set up application control in ZoneAlarm:
  1. Click ZoneAlarm icon in tray;

  2. In ZoneAlarm's main window click "View Details" in "ANTIVIRUS & FIREWALL" box at the left;

  3. In "ANTIVIRUS & FIREWALL" tab click "[number] programs secured" hyperlink in "Application Control" area at the bottom;

  4. In "Application Control Settings" click "Add" button in "View Programs" tab;

  5. Select "garagefarm.exe" file (It should be in: "C:\Users\[User name]\renderbeamer\jre8\bin\renderbeamer.exe");

  6. Click "Open" button;

  7. Select "Java(TM) Platform SE binary" position from list in "Programs" column and click on question mark icon in "Trust Level" column;

  8. Select "Trusted" option;

  9. Click on question mark icon in "Outbound Trusted" column and select "Allow" option;

  10. Click on question mark icon in "Outbound Internet" column and select "Allow" option;

  11. Click on question mark icon in "Inbound Trusted" column and select "Allow" option;

  12. Click on question mark icon in "Inbound Internet" column and select "Allow" option;

  13. Confirm by clicking "OK" button and close ZoneAlarm's interface;
